Professional Services / Cloud Solutions Reports to: Director of Engineering Services (or designated leader) Job Summary The Cloud Solutions Architect serves as a senior technical advisor and presales architect responsible for designing and positioning cloud, hybrid infrastructure, networking, security, compute, and storage solutions for clients. This role partners closely with sales, engineering, and practice leaders to assess customer requirements, develop strategic technology roadmaps, and architect comprehensive solutions that align with business objectives. The Cloud Solutions Architect combines deep technical expertise with strong client-facing communication skills to translate complex technical concepts into practical business solutions. Supervisory Responsibilities None. May provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineering teams during solution design and transition activities. Assists with technical enablement and knowledge sharing across sales and engineering teams. Duties/Responsibilities Lead technical presales engagements and collaborate with Account Executives to develop cloud and hybrid infrastructure strategies. Conduct customer discovery sessions, technical assessments, and cloud readiness evaluations. Design secure, scalable, and highly available cloud solutions leveraging industry best practices. Architect solutions across multiple technology disciplines including cloud infrastructure, networking, security, storage, backup, disaster recovery, and virtualization. Develop technical proposals, solution diagrams, statements of work (SOWs), and supporting documentation. Present solution recommendations and technical roadmaps to executive, business, and technical stakeholders. Serve as a trusted advisor by translating client business objectives into effective technology solutions. Ensure solution designs align with security, compliance, and governance frameworks such as
NIST, CIS
Controls, HIPAA, SOC 2, and Zero Trust principles. Collaborate with engineering and implementation teams to ensure successful project transitions and execution. Support internal sales teams through technical presentations, demonstrations, and solution education. Stay informed on emerging technologies, vendor roadmaps, and industry trends related to cloud computing and infrastructure. Participate in strategic planning, service development, and go-to-market initiatives. Performs other related duties as assigned. Education and Experience Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field; equivalent experience may be considered. Minimum of five (5) years of experience in solution architecture, systems engineering, cloud architecture, or presales engineering roles. Experience within a Managed Services Provider (MSP), Technology Solutions Provider (TSP), cloud services provider, or similar consulting environment preferred. Experience leading customer-facing technical discussions, workshops, and presentations. Microsoft Azure certifications strongly preferred. Additional industry certifications such as VMware, AWS, Cisco, Fortinet, or cybersecurity certifications are preferred.

Required Skills/Abilities Excellent verbal, written, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills. Strong consultative and customer-facing technical leadership abilities. Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Azure cloud services; knowledge of AWS is preferred. Strong understanding of networking concepts including SD-WAN, routing, switching, VPN technologies, and firewall platforms. Knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks, identity and access management, compliance requirements, and Zero Trust architecture. Experience with virtualization platforms including VMware and Microsoft Hyper-V. Familiarity with enterprise storage, backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity solutions. Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage multiple opportunities and priorities simultaneously. Ability to create technical documentation, solution diagrams, proposals, and statements of work. Ability to function effectively in a fast-paced Managed Services Provider (MSP) or Technology Solutions Provider (TSP) environment. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and related business applications. Physical Requirements Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Ability to operate standard office equipment. May be required to travel to client locations, company offices, conferences, or training events. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds occasionally.
