Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversee and interface with the developers to design, develop, test and implement critical functionality and POCs.
- Work with clients to create strategies and frameworks.
- Architect and design application solutions.
- Guide developers.
- Provide hands-on development support.
- Design software components from business requirements.
- Document and diagram application functionality from business requirements.
- Define, maintain, and govern the end-to-end enterprise and solution architecture for a Medicaid Provider Enrollment system
- Lead the design of scalable, secure, and highly available solutions leveraging cloud-based architectures, primarily AWS
- Establish, document, and enforce technical standards, patterns, and best practices across applications, data, integration, and infrastructure
- Review technical designs and deliverables to ensure feasibility, quality, and compliance with architectural standards and regulatory requirements
- Evaluate proposed solutions for technical soundness, performance, security, and maintainability
- Ensure alignment with enterprise architecture, data governance, and cloud security standards
- Identify architectural risks and provide mitigation strategies
- Support technology roadmaps and modernization efforts
- Work closely with application developers, data architects, cloud engineers, and DevOps teams throughout the development lifecycle
- Translate business requirements into clear, actionable technical solutions
- Collaborate with business leaders, product owners, and program stakeholders to ensure technology aligns with program objectives
- Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences, including executive leadership and external partners
- Ensure solutions support Medicaid program requirements, data privacy, and security standards
- Promote consistency, interoperability, and reusability across systems
- Participate in reviews, audits, and design approvals as needed Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in related field.
- 7-10 years of relevant professional experience required.
- Equivalent combination of education and experience considered in lieu of degree. Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years of experience in enterprise or solution architecture roles
- Proven experience leading architecture for large-scale, complex systems, preferably in healthcare or government programs
- Strong experience designing and overseeing cloud-based solutions, with hands-on experience in AWS Expertise in the following areas
- Application architecture
- Integration patterns and APIs
- Relational and/or NoSQL databases
- Cloud security and governance
- Experience setting, maintaining, and enforcing architecture standards
- Demonstrated ability to review and approve technical designs for feasibility and compliance Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Medicaid systems, provider enrollment, eligibility, or claims platforms
- Familiarity with state or federal healthcare regulations
- AWS certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect
- Professional or Associate)
