Job Title:
DevOps Engineer - 100% remote Job Description Seeking a person with an exceptional DevOps / Cloud Infrastructure Engineer. In this role, you will design, implement, and maintain critical application infrastructure that supports mission-critical government operations. Your ability to tackle complex problems and build reliable, scalable solutions will help shape the future of technology and contribute to making our nation safer. Quick Overview of Qualifications Not looking for someone who only has experience on the operations side. Need someone who has experience building. Someone who has taken an application completely from scratch to deployment in a cloud and has some level of understanding of that entire process. Cisco is looking for someone with a willingness to learn, dive into the work, take on challenges and be a good culture / team fit. On the technical side, someone who has some (does not need to be proficient), within Kubernetes, Terraform, Ansible, AWS, and CI/CD. Any scripting or networking would be a plus The technical proficiencies are less important than the characteristics of the person. Your Impact / Key Responsibilities Lead and Support the design, deployment, and maintenance of AWS cloud-based application infrastructure, including services such as ECR, EKS, S3, and Networking. Support and collaborate with cross-functional teams and external to address dependencies and ensure seamless integration across projects. Work with Terraform (TF) and Kubernetes (K8s) to automate and manage infrastructure as code (IaC). Develop scripts and automation tools, with a focus on Python, to improve operational efficiency and reliability. Maintain and improve infrastructure-related processes, systems, tools, and documentation to ensure compliance with Army-sponsored network requirements. Ensure alignment with security policies, compliance requirements, and stakeholder expectations. Minimum Qualifications Must be eligible for a clearance (clearance not required for job) 5+ years of experience working in cloud infrastructure, DevOps, or software development roles. Proficiency in AWS technologies, including ECR, EKS, S3, and Networking. Strong skills in Terraform and Kubernetes for managing scalable, reliable infrastructure. Experience in programming and scripting, with Python preferred or proficiency in another language that demonstrates strong programming skills. GitOps experience (Cisco specifically uses Palantir Apollo) Nice to Have Qualifications Experience with Helm and Ansible to manage Kubernetes workloads and configuration automation. Familiarity with Army-specific or government-related IT policies, frameworks, or regulatory requirements. Knowledge of additional cloud infrastructure tools and best practices. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Morrisville, NC. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $135000.00 - $149760.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
