Role Description Bright Star is recruiting an experienced Power Platforms Developer to support U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP). This position is full-time and is hybrid. This role will work with a Senior Technical Lead to design, build, and maintain Microsoft Power Platform solutions—including Power BI dashboards, Power Apps, Power Automate flows, and SharePoint-based applications—that streamline mission-critical workflows and deliver actionable insights to CBP stakeholders. This role offers a unique opportunity to apply your technical skills in a high-impact federal environment, working on solutions that directly support national security and trade facilitation operations. You'll collaborate with a talented team, expand your expertise across the Microsoft 365 ecosystem, and see your work make a tangible difference for end users across a large federal agency. Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports, including data modeling and transformations that translate complex CBP datasets into actionable insights
  • Build and configure SharePoint Online sites, lists, libraries, permissions, and workflows to support team collaboration, document management, and business process automation
  • Develop custom Power Apps to replace manual processes and improve operational efficiency
  • Build and maintain Power Automate flows that integrate SharePoint, Dataverse, SQL, and Microsoft 365 services
  • Analyze existing business processes and identify opportunities for automation, improvement, and better reporting
  • Translate business and operational requirements into technical Power Platform and SharePoint solutions
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, optimize, and document workflows and automation solutions
  • Collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders to refine requirements and deliver solutions Required Qualifications
  • Demonstrated expertise in the Microsoft Power Platform (Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate, Dataverse)
  • Strong experience with SharePoint Online, including site configuration, lists and libraries, permissions, and integration with Power Platform
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Business Analytics, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail, commitment to quality, and troubleshooting expertise
  • Ability to work with a team or independently to design and implement technical solutions from loosely defined requirements
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a CBP Public Trust clearance (U.S. citizenship required) Preferred Qualifications
  • Active CBP Public Trust or DHS clearance
  • Prior experience supporting CBP, DHS, or other federal agency programs
  • Experience with Microsoft Dataverse, SQL Server, or Azure data services
  • Familiarity with Power Platform governance, ALM (Application Lifecycle Management), and solution deployment best practices
  • Experience with SharePoint Framework (SPFx), PowerShell scripting, or
