Principal Innovation Architect - Remote#26-08826 Waukesha, WI Remote Contract Starts 8/31/2026 Ends 8/31/2027 Job Description Genesis10 is currently seeking a Principal Innovation Architect - Remote position with a Major Utility Company. This is a 12+ month contract to hire opportunity. The Executive Innovation Architect is accountable for exploring, validating, and substantiating emerging technologies to identify future opportunities for our client and its customers. Operating within Innovation & Emerging Technologies (IET), this role performs applied research, experimentation, prototyping, and capability incubation that informs technology evolution decisions. The role serves as thepany's technical innovation authority, helping transform emerging technologies into validated concepts, proven capabilities, and future opportunities.

Responsibilities:

Research emerging technologies, platforms, frameworks, and industry developments Conduct technology experiments, proofs of concept, prototypes, and technical demonstrations Evaluate technical feasibility, scalability, readiness, and applicability of emerging capabilities Design innovation architectures, reference models, and proof-of-value implementations Assess artificial intelligence, automation, data, cloud, and other emerging technology opportunities Develop technical rmendations supporting technology evolution decisions Collaborate with Executive Solution Engineers and Executive Solution Architects to validate business value and strategic applicability Contribute technical insights supporting executive decision-making and prioritization activities Establish experimentation frameworks and innovation validation approaches Mentor junior-level team members and provide technical leadership for innovation initiatives

Requirements:

Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT, Data Science, or a related technical discipline 10+ years of progressive experience in solution architecture, software engineering, cloud engineering, data engineering, AI/ML engineering, innovation programs, or related technology disciplines Proven experience researching, evaluating, prototyping, and ing emerging technologies within enterprise, consulting, product, engineering, or innovation-focused environments Demonstrated ability to move technologies from concept through experimentation, validation, and rmendation Strong understanding of innovation architecture, technology incubation, technical feasibility analysis, and prototype development methodologies Experience working across multiple technology domains, including cloud platforms, software development, data platforms, artificial intelligence, automation, and analytics Ability to influence technology strategy and investment discussions through technical expertise Strongmunication and collaboration skills, with the ability to convey technical findings to executive, business, and customer audiences Demonstrated curiosity, continuous learning, adaptability, and passion for emerging technology innovation Desired skills: Advanced coursework or graduate-level study in artificial intelligence, machine learning, data science, or cloudputing Relevant certifications in cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP), AI/ML, data engineering, or enterprise architecture Experience with utility industry technologies, GIS platforms, or critical infrastructure domains Exposure to consulting, customer-facing engagements, product development, innovation labs, or research organizations Demonstrated contributions to research, open-source initiatives, or technology publications Pay range: $120.00 - 125.00 per hour Only candidates available and ready to work directly as Genesis10 employees will be considered for this position.
