This is a hybrid role based in Indianapolis, Indiana . This role places significant emphasis on test strategy, automation, and quality ownership to ensure reliable, high-confidence firmware releases.

What you will do:

Design, develop, and debug firmware for platform assets used in multiple access control scenarios. Develop and maintain automated test scripts and frameworks for firmware testing covering static analysis, unit, integration, and regression testing. Measure and increase test coverage over time, making sure to emulate edge cases and failure scenarios. With assistance from other teams, design and maintain automated hardware-in-the-loop test hardware to support regression testing. This will include everything from verifying wireless network functionality to testing sensor behavior. Identify, document, troubleshoot, and resolve firmware issues. Monitor and analyze test results, creating detailed test reports and quality metrics to ensure continuous improvement in firmware quality. Improve quality, robustness, and rigor of firmware platform code. Perform design & code analysis utilizing appropriate tools What we are looking for: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. 5 plus years of firmware engineering experience Experience working with ARM Cortex-M series. Experience working with Real Time Operating Systems Proficiency in Python and C with strong analytical skills to debug, troubleshoot, and isolate complex issues across firmware and hardware. Ability to read schematics and work with and automate electronic test equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and voltmeters. Strong understanding of QA methodologies, best practices, and testing frameworks, with the ability to tailor processes for high-quality firmware releases. Experience working in a collaborative environment with agile development processes. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to document and convey complex technical concepts clearly and concisely. Passion for developing IoT solutions at the intersection of electronics hardware, mobile applications (iOS and Android), and cloud technologies. Preferred experience with communication protocols (Wi-Fi, BLE, and Thread), and analyzing network packet sniffers and logs. Knowledge of CI/CD systems, version control, and test-driven development.
