Who are we looking for? The Senior IT Systems Engineer is the senior technical partner to the Director of IT, responsible for modernizing Willamette View's core technology environment. This role spans corporate infrastructure, identity, AV, and the specialized systems unique to senior living. This role will own core systems and support owners of other systems. The ideal candidate is a highly curious, hands-on generalist who loves learning new systems, and is equally comfortable configuring Azure resources with PowerShell, scripting an automation, or patiently walking a non-technical staff member or resident through a problem. Essential Functions Infrastructure Modernization & Azure Migration Lead planning and execution of the migration from on-premises Hyper-V to Azure, including workload assessment, migration sequencing, cost management, and post-migration operations. Operate and right-size the resulting Azure environment; maintain Windows Server systems throughout the transition. Own backup/DR strategy across the hybrid environment (Veeam and/or Azure-native tools). Core Infrastructure, Identity & Network Administer hybrid Active Directory/Entra
ID, M365
tenant, and Intune/endpoint management. Administer network infrastructure (Meraki or equivalent): switching, wireless, VLANs, firewall policy. AV & Specialty Systems Support Serve as the escalation point for AV support across conference rooms and the two auditoriums, including audio, cameras/microphones, displays, and streaming, for resident-run events, corporate events, and all-staff meetings. Serve as a secondary point of contact for specialty operational systems outside core IT ownership, including clinical/healthcare systems (PointClickCare), security and access control, restaurant/POS, and facilities/building automation, coordinating with vendors and department owners on connectivity, integration touchpoints, and troubleshooting. Provide similar support and coordination touchpoints for corporate business systems (Salesforce, Dynamics GP, UKG Ready) as needed. Maintain documentation and vendor relationships across these systems; recommend refresh or improvement priorities. Escalation, Support & Mentoring Serve as the senior escalation point for the IT Services team on complex issues. Informally mentor IT Services staff, building their skills and reducing repeat escalations. Support staff and residents, including those who are not tech-savvy, with patience and clear, jargon-free communication. Documentation & Project Delivery Create and maintain architecture diagrams, runbooks, and system documentation. Provide technical input to the Director on vendor selection, SOWs, and solution design. Support system integrations (e.g., data access, API credentials, connectivity troubleshooting) Scope and deliver infrastructure projects independently. 5+ years administering enterprise Windows Server, Active Directory, and Microsoft 365 environments Hands-on production experience administering Microsoft Azure (IaaS) Working proficiency in PowerShell for administration and automation Experience with virtualization (Hyper-V or equivalent) and enterprise backup/DR Experience administering enterprise networks (Meraki, Cisco, or equivalent) Strong communication skills with non-technical audiences; genuine patience for teaching and troubleshooting with less tech-savvy staff and residents Demonstrated curiosity and self-directed learning, with evidence of picking up new platforms without formal training Preferred Qualifications Prior Azure migration experience specifically (vs. steady-state administration only) Experience in healthcare, senior living, or another regulated/clinical environment Familiarity with HIPAA technical safeguards Experience with live event

Experience with Azure Automation and/or Azure Data Factory Experience with development pipelines, secret management, and monitoring Microsoft certifications major plus: Azure Administrator Associate, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, or Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate, or equivalent demonstrated skill Working Conditions On-site, multi-building campus; some remote flexibility possible for architecture/project work Occasional after-hours work for migrations, maintenance windows, and evening/weekend events Occasional backup on-call coverage Interaction with an older-adult resident population requiring patience and professionalism Willamette View participates in E-Verify.
