Vantor is seeking a Staff Systems Engineer/Product Owner to join our SpaceWrx team in Westminster, CO. This role has the flexibility to work from home most Mondays and Fridays and requires in-office work on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. Our team within the SpaceWrx organization is responsible for defining and managing the development and deployment of software services within the Mission Control Ground System. This includes system capabilities such as real-time command and control, imagery data processing and distribution, data archiving, spacecraft calibration and analysis tools, ground resource scheduling, and image meta-data systems. We are seeking a Systems Engineer, acting also in a Product Owner capacity, to support our Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) software development scrum teams, specifically interfacing with the internal Spacecraft Calibration Navigation and Engineering teams. The successful candidate will have experience with model-based systems engineering as well as generation of traditional SE artifacts, such as Concepts of Operations, Requirements, Use Cases, and related documentation. The candidate has worked with large, complex systems, and will be expected to leverage this experience to quickly learn specific aspects of our ground system, focusing on the spacecraft engineering, radiometric/geolocation calibration, navigation, and other intricacies of the ground system. As the product owner, this candidate will be responsible for owning epics, supporting development of child user stories and the associated acceptance criteria, and prioritizing and maintaining their team's backlog, while providing technical leadership to scrum teams to keep mission development and implementation processes flowing.
Responsibilities:
Lead a scrum development team as Scrum Master, Product Owner, and Epic Owner - to include facilitating agile ceremonies such as team stand-ups, sprint and quarterly planning, and feature demonstrations Orchestrate the design, implementation, and maintenance of the teams' ground system services Support the Agile Software Development Life Cycle process used to facilitate system baseline changes, taking ownership of those deliverables expected from the customer organization Ensure quality by managing system and component-level requirements providing traceability to design documentation, test cases, and operational training material Work directly with other Product Owners, System Engineers, Program Managers, Developers, Testers, and customers to define technical user stories to generate an optimal system design implementation Design, document, and maintain service APIs Work directly with the internal software development teams Create system-level functional flows with an ability to frame all requirements inside those flows Lead development of as-built models and design documents for software components to ensure all documentation is current Continually learn about our evolving complex systems with particular focus on spacecraft navigation and calibration Make contributions to the enterprise vision, engineering processes, and overall architecture roadmap Participate in design sessions with internal clients from back-end processing to user interfaces, with an emphasis on Spacecraft Engineering and Mission Control segments within the ground system Manage customer expectations to ensure realistic deliverables and then exceed those expectations Coordinate team responses to large scale dynamic requests Minimum requirements: Must be a U.S. citizen and possess, or have the ability to obtain, a U.S. Government Secret security clearance Familiar with Software as a Service and Service Oriented Architectures and the underlying infrastructures Agile development and/or SCRUM experience Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field. Demonstrated success in space and defense industry, cyber security, the military, or equivalent type of commercial industry High proficiency in
MS Office Suite Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with JIRA issue tracking software Software development and integration experience Familiarity with requirements driven design Excellent cross-functional skills across multiple technical domains Complete and thorough understanding and experience in the complete life-cycle management of software development Excellent collaboration, communication (both verbal and written), and facilitation skills across a broad range of roles Excellent time management and organizational skills Ability to work multiple tasks at the same time and possess a strong sense of personal accountability regarding decision making Ability to predict challenges and seek to proactively head-off obstacles #LI-MG1

In support of pay transparency at Vantor, we disclose salary ranges on all U.S. job postings. The successful candidate's starting pay will fall within the salary range provided below and is determined based on job-related factors, including, but not limited to, the experience, qualifications, knowledge, skills, geographic work location, and market conditions. Candidates with the minimum necessary experience, qualifications, knowledge, and skillsets for the position should not expect to receive the upper end of the pay range. • The base pay for this position within Colorado is: $102,000.00 - $170,000.00 annually. For all other states, we use geographic cost of labor as an input to develop market-driven ranges for our roles, and as such, each location where we hire may have a different range.
