- Providence is seeking a higher level Physical Security Systems Engineer with deep hands-on experience designing, implementing, upgrading, and supporting enterprise access control and video management systems, preferably in healthcare or other highly regulated environments.
Job Description:
Position Overview Providence is seeking an experienced Service Engineer specializing in Physical Security Systems to support the design, implementation, modernization, maintenance, and operational support of enterprise access control and video management platforms across a large multi-state healthcare enterprise. This resource will serve as a technical expert responsible for delivering projects and operational improvements involving physical security technologies including access control, video surveillance, intrusion detection, identity integration, and related infrastructure. The engineer will work under the direction of a Principal Engineer and partner closely with Security Operations, Facilities, Infrastructure, Networking, Cybersecurity, Project Management, and third-party integrators. The ideal candidate is a hands-on engineer with deep experience administering and implementing enterprise-class physical security solutions and can independently drive projects from planning through production support.- Primary Technologies Required experience with several of the following: Access Control Platforms

- Responsibilities Engineering & Architecture
- Design enterprise physical security solutions for healthcare, business, and administrative locations.
- Develop technical standards, architecture diagrams, implementation plans, and operational runbooks.
- Evaluate current-state deployments and recommend modernization strategies.
- Support consolidation, standardization, and enterprise architecture initiatives.
- Project Delivery
- Lead technical implementation of physical security projects.
- Coordinate vendors, integrators, infrastructure teams, and site stakeholders.
- Develop project work plans, risks, mitigation strategies, and deployment schedules.
- Execute upgrades, migrations, hardware refreshes, and new site implementations.
- System Administration
- Administer enterprise access control and video management platforms.
- Manage upgrades, patches, firmware, licensing, backups, and system health.
- Maintain user access, integrations, cardholder databases, and video retention systems.
- Troubleshoot complex applications, infrastructure, database, and integration issues.
- Integration
- Implement integrations between: oLenel oGenetec oAvigilon oActive Directory oIdentity Governance solutions oHR systems oVisitor management systems oVideo surveillance systems oIntrusion detection systems
- Operational Support
- Provide Tier III engineering support.
- Participate in incident management and root cause analysis.
- Develop SOPs, KB articles, and support documentation.
- Mentor operational support personnel and embedded technical teams. ________________________________________ Required Qualifications Experience
- 7+ years supporting enterprise physical security platforms.
- 5+ years administering Lenel OnGuard, Genetec, Hirsch Velocity, Avigilon, or equivalent systems.
- Experience implementing multi-site physical security deployments.
- Experience working with healthcare, regulated industries, or other mission-critical environments.
- Experience working with system integrators such as: oConvergint oSiemens oJohnson Controls oPavion oSecuritas Technical Skills

- Be a former security systems engineer, security integrator, or physical security consultant.
- Have hands-on Lenel OnGuard administration and deployment experience.
- Possess strong infrastructure, networking, and SQL skills.
- Be comfortable leading projects while also performing technical engineering work.
- Understand healthcare, life-safety, and regulated environments.
- Require minimal ramp-up time and quickly become the technical lead for physical security initiatives

- Pay and Benefits
- The pay range for this position is $62.00
- $75.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
