Quality Systems Engineer (Automotive)

Job Description

Stability Matters. One of the most stable and profitable Tier 1 Automotive Manufacturers in SC for Two Decades Continues to Grow and offer Stability to Positive Minded Employees Maintains and improves the plant's Quality Management System (QMS) to meet strict industry standards and customer rules. This role ensures that manufacturing processes comply with IATF 16949 and ISO standards. Act as the main contact for quality audits and drive continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities QMS Maintenance:
Manage, support, and update the plant Quality Management System and internal operating standards
Audit Management:
Lead internal quality audits, coordinate external third-party audits, and manage corrective action plans
Core Tools Support:
Utilize core automotive tools like APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning), PPAP (Production Part Approval Process), FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis), SPC (Statistical Process Control), and MSA (Measurement Systems Analysis)
Problem Solving:
Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions (such as 8D reports) when quality issues happen
Cross-Functional Work:
Work with manufacturing, engineering, and operations teams to fix process gaps and prevent recurring defects
Requirements & Qualifications Education:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, or a related technical field
Experience:
3 to 7+ years of Quality Engineering experience in a high-volume automotive or manufacturing environment Certified Lead IATF Auditor Certified VDA 6.3 Audit or Certified VDA 6.5
Auditor Standards Knowledge:
Deep understanding of IATF 16949 and
ISO 9001
Strong data analysis, root-cause problem-solving (5 Why, Fishbone, 8D), and clear communication skills
Pay:
$100,000.00 - $115,000.00 per year
