Role Description The System Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in Chattanooga, TN, responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the company's IT systems and infrastructure. Daily activities include monitoring system performance, managing servers and networked systems, and applying updates and patches to ensure reliability and security. The System Engineer will troubleshoot hardware and software issues, provide escalated technical support to internal users, and document system configurations and procedures. The role also involves participating in systems design projects, collaborating with cross-functional teams on technology solutions that support manufacturing operations, and contributing to continuous improvement of IT processes and standards. Qualifications Strong skills in Systems Engineering and Systems Design to plan, implement, and optimize IT infrastructure and solutions. Proficiency in System Administration, including server management, user account administration, backups, and security controls. Ability to perform effective Troubleshooting and provide Technical Support for complex hardware, software, and network issues. Experience with Windows and/or Linux server environments, virtualization platforms, and common networking protocols. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. Familiarity with manufacturing or industrial environments and related operational technologies is beneficial. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail and clear documentation practices. Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in an on-site setting.
