Lead Systems Engineer (Distributed Middleware Services) is a critical role responsible for ensuring the stability, security, and long-term evolution of enterprise middleware platforms across

Linux environments. This includes Tomcat, WebSphere Application Server (WAS), Liberty, IBM MQ, Kafka, and IBM BPM, supporting mission-critical business applications and integration layers. The role serves as a technical authority for driving standardization, high availability, disaster recovery, and secure configurations while enabling seamless integration with internal systems and third-party applications. Lead or contribute to automation and scripting initiatives using tools such as Ansible, PowerShell, Bash, Python, or similar orchestration tools to enhance operational efficiency and reduce manual work.

Serve as a key responder for critical and major production incidents, handling end-to-end restoration, root cause analysis, remediation, and post-incident reviews.

Ensure production environments are available, perform well, are resilient, and recoverable through proactive monitoring, maintenance, and capacity planning.

Support new applications deployed across Dev, QA, PSE, and PROD environments.

Utilize monitoring and third-party tools to maintain system health and uptime.

Install, update, and coordinate patches for security vulnerabilities and bug fixes for WAS, IHS, Tomcat, MQ, and Kafka.
