An Enterprise Architect is responsible for ensuring that the business mission, strategy, and processes of an organization are aligned with the organization's IT strategy, and documents this using multiple architectural models or views that show how best to meet the current and future needs of the organization.
We are seeking a TOGAF-certified Enterprise Architect for an onsite contract (W-2) engagement in Houston, TX. You will define and govern the enterprise architecture across business, data, application, and technology domains, translating business strategy into target-state architecture and an actionable roadmap.
Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain current-state and target-state architecture using TOGAF/ADM and enterprise architecture frameworks Own architecture roadmaps, capability models, and reference architectures across business, data, application, and technology layers Chair and support the architecture review board; define architecture principles, standards, and governance Partner with business and IT leadership to align technology investments with business outcomes Guide cloud, integration, and modernisation strategy, including build-vs-buy and platform selection decisions Review solution designs for alignment with enterprise standards, security, scalability, and total cost of ownership Produce architecture artefacts and decision records, and present trade-offs to executive stakeholders Work mode: This is a 100% onsite role in Houston, TX — no remote or hybrid option.
Employment:
Contract on our W-2 only. Candidates must hold independent work authorisation (no third-party employer or sponsorship arrangement). Rate depends on experience.
Requirements:
Must have: TOGAF certification (active) Proven experience as an Enterprise Architect across business, data, application, and technology architecture Hands-on experience building target-state architectures, capability maps, and multi-year roadmaps Architecture governance experience — principles, standards, architecture review boards Cloud architecture experience (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and modernisation of legacy estates Integration architecture: APIs, microservices, event-driven patterns, ESB/middleware Security, compliance, and data governance considerations embedded into architecture decisions Strong executive communication and stakeholder management skills Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (Master's a plus) Work mode: onsite in Houston, TX (mandatory)
