Job Description

Job Overview Th e Platform Engineer is a highly skilled professional responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable, reliable, and efficient platform services across both on-premises and cloud environments. This role collaborates closely with software engineers, developers, DevOps engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure platform resources meet business and customer needs. Position Responsibilities De sign, develop, and implement scalable and reliable platform solutions based on approved designs and requirements. Automate and streamline platform processes using Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform. Prioritize tasks effectively to meet project deliverables and deadlines. Monitor system health and alerts to ensure platform availability and performance. Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues to improve application performance and functionality. Prepare and maintain documentation for platform processes and configurations. Stay current with emerging platform technologies and best practices. Required Skills & Experience Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS, or related technical discipline. 6-8 years of hands-on experience as a Platform Engineer, DevOps Engineer, or SRE in large AWS production environments. Strong experience with IaC (Terraform), CI/CD pipelines, and monitoring tools. Proficiency in at least one programming language (Python, Java). Experience with container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes). Solid understanding of multi-tiered application architecture, networking, DMZs, firewalls, and security best practices. Strong troubleshooting skills across AWS, Terraform, UNIX/Linux, Networking, J2EE, WAF, and application/web servers. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in Agile environments.
Technical Expertise Cloud:
Deep understanding of AWS; experience with Azure or GCP a plus.
SSL/Certificates:
Experience with CSR generation, renewals, and configuring SSL for apps/servers.
CI/CD Tools:
Azure DevOps, Jenkins, IBM UCD/UCR.
Scripting & Automation:
Bash, PowerShell, Ansible, Terraform.
Application Servers:
IBM WebSphere, Apache Tomcat.
Web Servers:
IBM HTTP
Server, Apache HTTP Server, Nginx.
Containers:
Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift, Nomad.
OS Expertise:
UNIX/Linux administration and shell scripting.
Performance Monitoring:
Experience with APM tools and tuning exercises. Preferred Qualifications Relevant cloud certifications (AWS Solutions Architect, Azure DevOps Engineer). Web application development experience (Java, Python, React, Angular). Contributions to open-source projects. Database skills (Oracle
PL/SQL, MS-SQL PL/SQL
). Familiarity with enterprise content management platforms (EMC Documentum, EMC InfoArchive, SDL Tridion, Adobe AEM).
