Job Description

Cloud Solutions Architect North Cast Logic Mission, TX Job Details Full-time $109,000 - $114,000 a year 21 hours ago Benefits Health savings account Health insurance Dental insurance 401(k) Tuition reimbursement Employee assistance program Vision insurance Professional development assistance Qualifications Azure HIPAA Terraform AWS Certified Solutions Architect AWS CloudFormation Full Job Description We are expanding our cloud engineering capability and are looking for an experienced Cloud Solutions Architect to take technical ownership of cloud infrastructure projects across a varied client portfolio. The work covers AWS and Azure environments supporting organizations within healthcare, education and wider enterprise sectors. Projects include new cloud deployments, migrations from on-premise infrastructure, platform modernization and improvements to established cloud environments. This is a senior technical position with a combination of architecture, hands-on technical work and direct client involvement. The role You will work alongside cloud engineers, developers, project managers and client IT teams from the early stages of a project through implementation.
Responsibilities will include:
Design secure and scalable AWS and Azure architectures Assess existing infrastructure and recommend appropriate migration approaches Produce architecture diagrams and technical documentation Define networking, storage, compute, identity and security requirements Build and maintain infrastructure using Terraform and CloudFormation Review proposed designs before implementation Support cloud migrations and major infrastructure changes Investigate complex infrastructure and performance issues Review cloud usage and identify opportunities to improve cost efficiency Support architecture workshops and technical discussions with clients Provide technical guidance to cloud and infrastructure engineers Projects vary considerably in size. Some involve moving individual applications or workloads into the cloud, while larger assignments can involve redesigning significant parts of a client's infrastructure. Technical background We are looking for substantial commercial experience designing cloud infrastructure using AWS, Azure or both. You should have a strong working knowledge of cloud networking, IAM, security, availability, disaster recovery and infrastructure-as-code. Experience with Terraform is particularly relevant. Exposure to Kubernetes, containers, CI/CD pipelines and hybrid cloud environments would also be useful. Because this is a client-facing architecture position, you will need to explain technical decisions clearly and be comfortable discussing proposed solutions with engineering teams, IT managers and senior stakeholders. AWS Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect or similar certifications are useful but not essential where equivalent commercial experience can be demonstrated. Experience working with HIPAA, FERPA or other regulated environments would be beneficial for some of our client projects. Projects and working pattern The standard working week is Monday to Friday, typically 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM. Some flexibility may be required around major migrations, releases or client infrastructure changes. You will manage several pieces of technical work at different stages rather than remaining assigned to a single platform throughout the year. We are looking for an architect who can take responsibility for a solution from initial requirements through to a stable production environment.
