Senior Infrastructure Architect

Job Summary Client is seeking an experienced Senior Infrastructure Architect with hands-on expertise in architecting and designing IT infrastructure for on-premises environments. This role involves designing, developing, and operating infrastructure solutions aligned with Client operating procedures and architectural principles. The architect will collaborate with technical teams to prototype, develop, and maintain complex applications, perform proof-of-concepts, and provide mentorship to operational teams. Key Responsibilities Des ign and develop IT infrastructure compute and storage components. Perform system integration, capacity management, and performance monitoring. Automate processes during development and operations. Develop prototypes to validate designs and delivery patterns. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Development, Operations, Compliance, and Security. Apply professional principles, theories, and concepts consistent with Client culture. Provide mentoring and technical guidance to team members. Convey team goals effectively through strong communication skills. Execute end-to-end testing for non-functional requirements. Resolve design and development issues creatively and effectively. Research and incorporate new technologies to enhance product development and platform operations. Advise management with recommendations based on experience. Expand technical proficiency in key infrastructure areas. Required Qualifications Minimum of 8 years of related work experience beyond degree requirements. Strong experience with on-prem/private cloud infrastructure services, including converged and hyperconverged infrastructure. Expertise in VMware virtualization components (NSX, vRealize). Experience at the Senior Storage Administrator/Engineer or Senior Virtualization Administrator/Engineer level. Strong knowledge of storage systems (VxBlock, VxRail, NetApp, VSAN) and networking appliances (Cisco). Familiarity with Linux and Windows operating systems, as well as middleware (application servers, web servers, databases). Previous experience delivering multiple end-to-end solutions across the full lifecycle (design, implementation, operational turnover, maintenance, decommissioning). Preferred Qualifications Ex perience with containers (Kubernetes, Docker) and public cloud IaaS (Azure). Experience with automation and orchestration tools (Ansible, Terraform). Basic knowledge of development and scripting. Experience with technology projects such as data transformation assessments, infrastructure strategies, and data center refreshes. Certifications Relevant infrastructure or cloud certifications preferred (e.g., VMware, Cisco, Azure). Education Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field required. Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
