Tharros is seeking aSystems Engineer specializing in Weapons or Combat Systems to support NSWCDD in Dahlgren, VA. These engineers provide systems engineering support for weapon control systems and surface combat, control, and situational awareness systems throughout the full system lifecycle, from requirements definition and architecture development through integration, certification, fielding, sustainment, and modernization. The position requires a strong understanding of systems engineering discipline, configuration management, technical documentation, certification processes, and the operational environments in which advanced weapons and combat systems are deployed. Projects include systems engineering support of a variety of weapons systems, weapons control systems, and warfare systems. Requirements Develop Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs), Interface Change Requests (ICDs), and Interface Design Specifications (IDS) for weapons control systemsDevelop Weapon Specifications (WS) and other system design/integration documents for surface combat, control, and situational awareness systemsSupport weapon and combat system certification processes, including self-certification criteriaPerform system analysis and requirements decomposition for weapons control and combat systemsSupport system integration testing and validation activitiesParticipate in technical design reviews, configuration control boards, and working groupsMaintain requirements traceability from specifications to design documentationSupport shipboard system integration and fleet deployment eventsDocument test results, engineering analyses, and system performance assessments
