Position Description:
CGI Federal is seeking a Senior Security Administrator to support security operations, access management, monitoring, and maintenance of secure enterprise environments as part of a major federal modernization program. This role ensures compliance with federal security requirements, protects mission-critical systems, and provides oversight of security controls across cloud, development, testing, and operations workflows. The Senior Security Administrator works closely with Cyber Security, Cloud, DevSecOps, and Operations teams to maintain a stable, secure environment supporting high-availability mission systems.
Your future duties and responsibilities:
Security Administration & Access Management
  • Manage user accounts, permissions, role-based access controls (RBAC), and privileged access workflows
  • Monitor authentication, authorization, and identity management systems
  • Administer security groups, certificates, keys, and secure configuration standards System Security Operations
  • Support daily security operations including log review, event correlation, and system monitoring
  • Assist in implementing secure configurations, patching, hardening, and remediation activities
  • Collaborate with engineers to ensure configuration baselines meet security requirements Incident Monitoring & Response Support
  • Monitor security alerts, anomalies, and indicators of compromise
  • Support incident response activities, including initial triage and data gathering
  • Document incident actions and contribute to follow-up investigations Compliance & Security Control Enforcement
  • Ensure systems adhere to federal security standards and classified-environment requirements
  • Support control validation, security audits, vulnerability scans, and remediation tracking
  • Maintain security records, change logs, and configuration documentation Cross-Team Collaboration
  • Work directly with Cyber Security/ISSO, DevSecOps, Cloud Engineering, QA, and Operations teams
  • Support integration of security controls into CI/CD pipelines and cloud deployments
  • Provide guidance to engineers and staff on security practices and compliance expectations Documentation & Reporting
  • Maintain SOPs, access control documentation, change records, and system security artifacts
  • Report security incidents, compliance posture, and risk findings to leadership
  • Assist in preparing documentation required for audits, assessments, and operational reviews Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
  • Must have an Active Top Secret Security Clearance
  • U.S. Citizenship
  • Bachelor's degree and 8+ years of experience in system security administration or related IT security roles
  • Experience managing access control systems, RBAC, authentication, and authorization services
  • Strong understanding of secure system configuration, patching, and hardening
  • Familiarity with log analysis, monitoring tools, and security alert triage
  • Excellent communication, troubleshooting, and documentation skills Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting federal programs or secure operational environments
  • Familiarity with AWS cloud environments, cloud-security configurations, and identity services
  • Experience with security automation, DevSecOps practices, or CI/CD pipeline security
  • Security certifications such as Security+, CySA+, CASP+, or similar Due to the nature of this government contract, US Citizenship is required.
