Network Security Engineer Responsibilities Collaborate on maintaining and deploying secure network designs, automation systems, and networkperformance improvements into Meta's production network. Ensure that the network is reliable, secure,robust, and can scale to meet the challenges serving over a billion users. Collaborate, manage, and maintainmulti-vendor, multi-protocol datacenter and backbone networks. Develop optimized network monitoringsystems and assist in the design of security in new network architectures. Develop andor maintainautomated methods to mitigate and remediate network security issues to maintain consistency within thenetwork infrastructure. Collaborate with the Backbone, Datacenter, Network Infrastructure Engineering teamson a large scale global network. Domestic and International Travel Required 5%. Minimum Qualifications Master's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Analytics, Mathematics, Physics, Applied Sciences or a related field and 2 years ofexperience in the job offered or in a computer-related occupation Experience must include 2 years in the following: Coding in at least one of the following higher-level programming languages: PHP, Python, C++, Go, or Java Software frameworks and APIs UNIX or Linux operating system fundamentals TCPIP network fundamentals Routing and switching - hardware design and knowledge of forwarding and data planes BGP, MPLS, ISIS or similar routing protocols - typical configurations and performance tuning Network device configuration for at least one vendor (Juniper, Cisco, Arista, Brocade) Understanding and mitigating network hardware and topology failures Creating network segmentation through various technologies such as routing, virtual networking, and
