Security Engineer Fortinet paid holidays, sick time, 401(k) United States, California, Sunnyvale 899 Kifer Road (Show on map) Sep 03, 2026 This is a newly created position to help meet the IT needs of Fortinet's rapidly growing workforce. With over 15,000 people worldwide (and growing) and the implementation of new IT systems, we are looking for a Jr. IT Engineer to help us ensure 24x7 support. In this critical role you will be based in our Sunnyvale Headquarters and support our global distribution of network and server systems. This is an excellent opportunity to join a network security company and utilize the latest systems and equipment to support our network availability.

Responsibility:

Own the administration of security platforms, including WAF, Endpoint protection, SIEM and similar. Provide Tier-3 technical support including troubleshooting, root cause analysis

Participate in security incident investigation

Manage vulnerability management program across infrastructure, lead the remediation effort and coordination.

Fine-tune WAF and endpoint policies based on security alerts, attack trends, and business requirements to strengthen application security.

Lead CIS benchmark-based compliance scanning and security hardening initiatives across enterprise environments

Develop security automation using scripting and programming languages (e.g., Python) to improve operational efficiency and visibility

Responds to and resolves support requests, Coordinates and communicates with users

Participate in an on-call rotation for support of systems outside of normal business hours

Qualifications:

Understanding of network/security/system

Experience on Fortinet security devices is a big plus.

Knowledge with Layer 2-7 protocols, hand on traffic diagnostic.

Understanding of Firewalls, PKI and CIS Benchmarks

Understanding of common network attacks (OWASP Top 10) and defense methods

Understanding of scripting (e.g., Python) for task automation.

Strong multi-tasking abilities

Excellent English oral and written communications skills

Demonstrated ability to work under pressure

Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship

Education Requirements:

Wage ranges are based on various factors including the labor market, job type, and job level. Earnings for this position are expected to be $89,000 - $140,000 Exact salary offers will be determined by factors such as the candidate's subject knowledge, skill level, qualifications, experience, and geographic location. All roles are eligible to participate in the Fortinet equity program, Bonus eligibility is reviewed at time of hire and annually at the Company's discretion
