Akkodis is seeking a Senior Security Engineer for a Contract with a client in Jersey City, NJ. The ideal candidate will design and maintain highly available production systems while driving automation and reliability improvements across AWS and Linux environments.

Rate Range:

$44/Hour to $45/Hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Senior Security Engineer Responsibilities include:

Design, implement, and maintain highly available, scalable, and reliable production systems. Manage and support AWS cloud infrastructure, including EC2, RDS, S3, IAM, VPC, and CloudWatch services. Automate operational processes and infrastructure management using scripting and DevOps tools. Perform Linux server administration, troubleshooting, patching, and performance optimization. Monitor application and infrastructure health, respond to incidents, and conduct root cause analysis (RCA). Collaborate with development and support teams to improve system reliability, deployment processes, and CI/CD automation.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field. 6-8 years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), DevOps, Production Support, or Infrastructure Operations. Strong hands-on experience with AWS, Linux administration, Jenkins, CI/CD pipelines, automation scripting (Shell/Python), and cloud-based infrastructure management. Proven expertise in PostgreSQL/MySQL databases, monitoring and observability tools, incident management, and maintaining highly available production environments.
