Locations:
Huntsville, AL and Alexandria, VA. Telecommuting may be available.
Clearance:
Active Secret with the ability to obtain a Top-Secret security clearance. This position is contingent upon contract award. Leidos is hiring a Mid‑Level Cyber Security Engineer to secure the Army's Counter‑UAS (C‑UAS) Network Communication System (NCS) . You'll engineer, implement, and test security controls that protect M‑LIDS and FS‑LIDS systems supporting Short‑Range Air Defense (SHORAD) missions. This role blends hands‑on coding, security testing, RMF/ATO support, and Agile team collaboration to deliver secure tactical software in contested environments. Key Duties Implement and test encryption , MFA , and access control within tactical software. Conduct vulnerability scanning , security regression testing , and penetration‑testing support . Contribute security requirements, reviews, and documentation for NCS upgrades. Validate secure cloud data pipelines and remote access (zero‑trust, VPN, gateways). Support RMF/ATO activities, patch assessments, compliance checks, and government security testing. Track and remediate findings in Agile sprint cycles; present results at TIMs and reviews. Basic Qualifications Bachelors in Cybersecurity/CS/Engineering + 4-7 years cybersecurity experience. DoD Secret clearance with ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance. Experience coding and testing security controls (C/C++/Python/Java). DoD 8570/8140 certification (Security+, CySA+, CASP+, CISSP, etc.). Hands‑on experience with encryption, MFA, access control, vulnerability assessment, and Agile development. Familiarity with RMF/ATO, secure cloud integration, DIL operations, and secure remote access. If you're looking for comfort, keep scrolling.
