As a Cyber Security Intern at Workplace by Direct in Sioux Falls, SD, you will work alongside our experienced team to build foundational cybersecurity knowledge and gain exposure to real-world security operations. You will have opportunities to learn about cybersecurity tools, common threats, risk management, governance, and the processes organizations use to strengthen their security posture.
Key Responsibilities:
Learn core cybersecurity concepts, common threats, and risk awareness through training and hands-on experience Assist with basic security tasks, documentation, and operational processes under team guidance Gain exposure to cybersecurity tools, technologies, governance activities, and security operations Learn how cybersecurity controls and activities help reduce organizational risk Participate in team discussions, training, and other learning opportunities Apply feedback and coaching while continuing to develop technical and professional skills Assist with assigned cybersecurity activities and projects as needed
Qualifications:
Completed or pursuing a degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field Strong interest in cybersecurity, technology, and security operations Willingness to learn new concepts, tools, and technologies Strong communication and collaboration skills Curious mindset with the ability to ask thoughtful questions and seek out learning opportunities Dependable, professional, and accountable when completing assigned responsibilities Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team If you are looking to build your cybersecurity knowledge, gain valuable real-world experience, and learn from an experienced technology team, we want to hear from you.
