In order to be officially considered for this job, you must apply online here: https://demase-tech.jobs.agile-ats.com/jobs/details/35 DeMase is currently recruiting for two Security Controls Assessors to work onsite at the Y-12 site in Oak Ridge, TN. These positions involve supporting sensitive government projects and requires an active DOE Q security clearance or equivalent DoD Top Secret clearance. Conducts independent comprehensive assessments of the management, operational, and technical security controls and control enhancements employed within or inherited by an information technology (IT) system to determine the overall effectiveness of the controls (as defined in
NIST SP 800-37
); Develops Baseline and Risk Assessments (BARA) for new applications/capabilities deployed to the environment; Supports all phases of the RMF Process to include the Prepare, Categorize, Select, and Implement tasks associated with system security plan development.
Basic qualifications:
Level 3 Masters degree in a technical field with limited experience or Bachelors degree in a technical field and 2 to 5 years of related experience or Associates degree in a technical field and 5 to 10 years of related experience Requires advanced knowledge and understanding in area of expertise and associated equipment, processes, or systems Level 4 PhD in a technical field with limited experience or Masters degree in a technical field and 2 to 5 years of related experience or Bachelors degree in a technical field and 5 to 10 years of related experience or Associates degree in a technical field and 10 to 15 years of related experience Requires demonstrated in-depth knowledge and skills in a technical specialty Level 5 PhD in a technical field and 2 to 5 years of related experience or Masters degree in a technical field and 5 to 10 years of related experience or Bachelors degree in a technical field and 10 to 15 years of related experience or Associates degree in a technical field and 15 to 20 years of related experience Requires demonstrated in-depth knowledge and skills in a technical specialty Recognized as an expert in their field All levels must possess the knowledge, skill set, and abilities to complete the following: Implements and maintains security controls aligned with approved baselines and organizational requirements; Supports system authorization activities, including the development and maintenance of security documentation such as System Security Plans (SSPs) and Plans of Action and Milestones (POA&Ms); Monitors system security posture and identifies risks, vulnerabilities, and compliance gaps; Tracks and manages POA&Ms and coordinates remediation activities with system stakeholders; Assesses the security impact of system changes and supports configuration and change management processes; Supports continuous monitoring activities, including vulnerability management and security reporting; Serves as a security liaison between system teams, cybersecurity operations, and governance bodies; and Prepares systems for security assessments, audits, and Authorizing Official reviews. Active U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Q Security Clearance or Department of Defense (DoD) Top Secret Security Clearance Capable of working onsite daily in Oak Ridge, TN, within a secure, highly-regulated facility Preferred skills/qualifications: Firm understanding of NIST SP 800-37 and
