Network Administration What You'll Do Job Summary:
The Lead Analyst is responsible for providing technical leadership and operational support within a 24/7 Network Operations Center (NOC)/Security Operations Center (SOC) environment. This role emphasizes mentoring and training junior analysts while serving as a key escalation point for complex incidents. The Lead Analyst plays a critical role in major incident management, cross-functional coordination, and continuous improvement of operational processes supporting Tier 2 and Tier 3 activities.
Key Responsibilities:
Mentorship & Training Mentor, coach, and develop junior analysts to enhance technical capabilities and operational readiness Deliver structured and ad hoc training sessions on tools, processes, and incident response procedures Provide performance feedback and support skill progression across the team Technical Leadership & Escalation Act as the primary escalation point for Tier 1 and junior Tier 2 analysts Lead troubleshooting efforts for complex or high-impact incidents Ensure timely resolution of escalated issues while maintaining service level agreements (SLAs) Major Incident Management Facilitate and coordinate major incident response efforts Lead incident bridge calls, ensuring clear communication among stakeholders Drive root cause analysis (RCA) and post-incident reviews, identifying preventative measures Operational Support (Tier 2 & Tier 3) Provide advanced technical support for systems, applications, and infrastructure Collaborate with Tier 3 teams and engineering groups to resolve persistent or critical issues Support continuous monitoring, alert tuning, and system optimization Project & Process Contribution Act as a technical resource for projects, including system implementations, upgrades, and migrations Contribute to the development and improvement of operational procedures and documentation Identify opportunities for automation and efficiency improvements Additional Duties Participate in on-call rotations as required Ensure adherence to security, compliance, and operational standards Perform other duties as needed to support 24/7 operations Minimum Job Requirements Bachelor's degree in engineering/science/information technology discipline: Minimum 4 years of relevant experience. Typical engineering/science/information technology experience ranging from 6 to 10 years. OR Master's degree in engineering/science/information technology discipline: Minimum 2 years of relevant experience. OR Applicants without a bachelor's degree may be considered based on a combination of at least 12 years of completed education and/or relevant experience. Preferred Job Requirements Experience in a NOC, SOC, or similar operations environment (4+ years) Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills Proven ability to mentor and train junior staff Experience handling incident escalation and major incident coordination Solid understanding of Information Technology (IT) infrastructure, networking, or security principles Experience in Tier 2/Tier 3 support roles Familiarity with incident management frameworks (e.g., Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) Strong communication and leadership skills Experience with monitoring and ticketing tools #
