Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Data Engineer / BI Engineer with strong expertise in MicroStrategy and enterprise reporting environments. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience supporting MicroStrategy, along with exposure to legacy BI/reporting technologies such as Power BI and SSRS. This role requires proficiency in SQL, data modeling, and business intelligence solutions within a healthcare environment. Key Responsibilities
Design and develop BI solutions including reports, dashboards, datasets, and metrics.
Provide MicroStrategy expertise in development, administration, and support.
Analyze legacy reporting solutions (Power
BI, SSRS
) and support modernization initiatives.
Collaborate with stakeholders to understand reporting requirements and deliver solutions.
Develop SQL queries and perform data analysis to support reporting needs.
Work with data warehouses and relational databases to build and maintain data models.
Troubleshoot reporting issues including discrepancies, performance problems, and failures.
Optimize MicroStrategy reports and queries for efficiency.
Support integration/migration of legacy reporting platforms.
Validate data accuracy and reporting outputs with stakeholders.
Participate in reviews and support including code reviews, testing, deployment, and production support.
Develop technical documentation for BI solutions and data processes.
Collaborate with global teams to deliver projects within timelines. Required Qualifications
5-7+ years of experience in Data Engineering / BI Development / Business Intelligence
Strong hands-on MicroStrategy experience (development and administration)
Strong SQL skills
Experience with enterprise data warehouses and relational databases
Experience developing and supporting BI reports and dashboardsExperience with Power BI and SSRS
Strong understanding of data modeling, reporting, and analytics
Experience troubleshooting data and reporting issues
Ability to work with business and technical stakeholders
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and collaboration skills Preferred Qualifications
Healthcare industry experience
Experience with healthcare claims, eligibility, benefits, membership, or provider data
Experience with TPA / Third-Party Administration data
Experience modernizing legacy BI/reporting platforms
Experience migrating reports to modern BI technologies
Experience with ETL/data integration processes
Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies
Experience working with onshore/offshore delivery teams Certifications (if any)
None required; certifications in BI tools or SQL are a plus
