UN COMN is seeking a Data Engineer 2-3 (Associate/Mid-Level) to: Design, build, and evolve scalable data pipelines that power analytics, reporting, and machine learning initiatives. Develop and manage ETL/ELT workflows to efficiently ingest, transform, and deliver high-quality data across platforms. Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity through strong governance practices and validation frameworks. Architect and maintain robust data models, warehouses, and lakehouse environments to support growing data needs. Continuously optimize database and query performance to enable fast, reliable access to critical datasets. Implement partitioning, indexing, and other performance strategies to scale data systems effectively. Leverage cloud platforms and modern data technologies to build resilient, high-performing data infrastructure. Partner closely with data scientists, analysts, and engineers to translate business needs into reliable data solutions. Champion data security, privacy, and regulatory compliance across the data ecosystem. Establish and maintain data governance standards to ensure data quality, accessibility, and responsible use. Proactively monitor, troubleshoot, and strengthen the reliability of production data pipelines. Drive automation and workflow improvements to increase efficiency and reduce manual effort. Stay current with emerging data engineering tools, technologies, and industry best practices. This position description outlines the core duties for this role, but it is not all-inclusive. Responsibilities may shift based on contract requirements, mission needs, or organizational objectives. Requirements 3+ years of experience, including designing, developing, and automating ETL/ELT pipelines. Active DoD Secret clearance (or higher) Prior experience with BI tools, cloud platforms, and big data technologies, with proficiency in SQL, Python, and/or Scala. Familiarity with data modeling, warehousing, and lakehouse architectures, with knowledge of data optimization, governance, security, and compliance best practices. Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally. Must be comfortable working onsite full-time and traveling (up to 15% of the time), primarily to Scott AFB in O'Fallon, IL, and/or MacDill AFB in Tampa, FL. Preferred Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university. Prior experience with the
USTRANSCOM
