Junior Data Engineer EpochGeo is looking for Junior level Data Engineers to support one of the most exciting and growing automated analytic projects in the national security space. Data can be overwhelming, inaccessible, and noisy. EpochGeo is a data services firm specializing in supporting the full spectrum data cycle: beginning with scalable data storage and ending in producing impactful analytics. Our developers, analysts, and data scientists have a proven track record applying open-source innovative technology, data science, and actionable analytics to inform customers' data driven decisions.
Your background likely includes:
1+ years of relevant experience in data engineering or similar. Proficiency using Python, SQL, Apache Airflow (or similar). Experience in designing and implementing data architectures and management systems. Familiarity in database technologies, including SQL, NoSQL, HPC, and experience in selecting and configuring these technologies to optimize data systems. Experience building and maintaining ETL processes and data pipeline management. Experience in optimizing data throughput, query performance, and system responsiveness to support complex data queries and analyses. Experience problem-solving and working collaboratively with data users and other stakeholders.
What you will be doing:
Supporting and maintaining data management systems to ensure efficient storage, access, and use of data across platforms. Collaborating with stakeholders to design and implement data architectures aligned with operational requirements. Designing, building, and optimizing data pipelines and ETL processes to enable reliable, high-performance data processing and access. Evaluating and selecting appropriate database and processing technologies (e.g., SQL, NoSQL, HPC) based on data and query requirements. Ensuring effective data integration across systems to support analysis and decision-making.
