Job Description

Akkodis is seeking a Data Engineer for a Contract job with a client in [Location] . The ideal candidate must have strong experience in Data Vault Modeling, Insurance Data Management, and Enterprise Data Processing, along with expertise in data migration, data transformation, and metadata management.
Rate Range:
$89/hour to $92/hour ; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.
Data Engineer job responsibilities include:
: Design and implement Data Vault 2.0 models , including Hubs, Links, Satellites, and related entities across enterprise insurance domains. Lead end-to-end data migration activities , including source system analysis, data profiling, schema mapping, data validation, and cutover planning. Develop and maintain data processing pipelines supporting ingestion, transformation, and loading across Bronze, Silver, and Gold layers within a Medallion Architecture framework. Create detailed source-to-target mappings and transformation specifications for complex insurance datasets, including policy, claims, customer, and financial data. Design, maintain, and enhance metadata assets such as data dictionaries, business glossaries, lineage documentation, and schema definitions. Apply insurance business knowledge to validate data structures, business rules, regulatory requirements, and reporting needs. Collaborate with data architects, engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders to ensure successful implementation of data models and transformation requirements.
Desired Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field. 5-8 years of experience in Data Engineering, Data Modeling, Data Migration, or Enterprise Data Transformation projects.
Strong expertise in:
Data Vault 2.0 Modeling, Enterprise Data Modeling, Data Migration, Data Mapping Data Transformation, Data Processing Pipelines, Metadata Management Experience working with large-scale enterprise data warehouse and cloud data platform environments. Strong understanding of data profiling, data validation, reconciliation, and data quality processes.
Preferred Qualifications:
Insurance industry experience with knowledge of: Policy Administration, Claims Processing, Underwriting Financial Reporting, Regulatory Data Requirements Experience implementing Medallion Architecture frameworks. Knowledge of data governance, metadata management, and data lineage best practices. Familiarity with enterprise data warehouse platforms, ETL/ELT frameworks, and modern analytics architectures. Pay Details:
