Full Job Description Overview:
The QA Lead of Data and Reporting will be responsible for leading testers on the Quality Assurance team and overseeing quality of our data and reporting systems. QA Lead will work closely with the data and reporting teams and other stakeholders to ensure the accuracy and reliability of our data and reporting processes for our clients.
Responsibilities:
Lead, manage, and train the assigned Quality Assurance team members, including setting goals, developing processes, and ensuring timely and accurate delivery of tasks. Develop and implement testing strategies for data and reporting systems, including manual and automated testing. Collaborate with the development team, data engineers, and business analysts to understand requirements and translate them into test plans to drive quality. Conduct thorough reviews of data and reporting processes, test plans, test results, and delivery plans to identify potential issues and risks and communicate those effectively to leadership. Develop and maintain test plans, test cases, and test scripts for data and reporting systems. Provide regular reports on the status of testing and quality metrics to stakeholders. Perform functional, integration, regression, and performance testing on reports and data pipelines.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. At least 5 years of experience in QA and testing, with at least 3 years as a lead. At least 4 years of experience with testing data, reporting systems, ETL processes, and knowledge of data warehousing concepts. Very strong knowledge of SQL and data querying, including writing complex SQL queries against source databases to help build validation scripts/data outputs. Experience with Snowflake, including data modeling, data loading, and data transformation. Experience with testing tools such as qTest and JIRA. Proficient at Microsoft Excel to compare QA SQL data output to developer data output to find discrepancies and report bugs back to developers. Able to decipher data transfer agreements and business requirements/documentation to help build out test scenarios. Able to input/load various test data scenarios in source application to ensure testing validation passes all required scenarios. Able to navigate to target SFTP directories to validate dev files and validate data is accurate per the data transfer agreements. Experience working with SQL Server, Snowflake, Tableau, and/or SQL Server Reporting Services. Experience in testing in a cloud environment, such as Azure, is a plus. Experience with test automation tools and frameworks is a plus. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders. Strong understanding of software development lifecycles and methodologies. Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and experience with agile testing. Must be results-driven and have a passion for ensuring data accuracy and reliability.
Pay Range:
USD $94,080.00 - USD $141,120.00 /Hr.
