6-months contract to start, likely to get extended - W2 Position Overview We are currently seeking a data analyst contractor to help us collect, transform and extract meaning from data for the Global Technology Services (GTS) Control Tower team. The position performs a wide range of activities with experts from GTS, business intelligence, business analysis, data engineering, process engineering, governance, and data analysts to collaboratively solve a wide array of complex technical problems.
Core Responsibilities Report & Dashboard Development:
Design, develop, and maintain high-quality, accessible interactive Power BI dashboards and reports that clearly communicate key performance indicators (KPIs) and business insights.
Data Modeling & Transformation:
Build and optimize semantic data models, including relationships, calculated columns, and measures using DAX. Perform data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) using Power Query (M).
Performance Optimization:
Tune data models and DAX calculations to ensure optimal performance, scalability, and user experience.
Documentation & Standards:
Create and maintain clear documentation for data models, transformation logic, report definitions, and operational procedures to support transparency and long-term maintainability. Requirements An online portfolio with examples with nonconfidential data that demonstrates your analysis skills Advanced experience with Microsoft Power BI, DAX, Power Query, M, ETL, Python, PySpark, SQL, key focus on performance optimization of DAX. Preferred Qualifications Microsoft Certifications for any of the following: Power BI Data Analyst Associate (PL-300), Analytics Engineer Associate (DP-600), Fabric Data Engineer Associate (DP-700) Prior experience with Microsoft Fabric, relational and non-relational databases, data pipelines, medallion architecture, star schema Strong focus on user experience, interaction design, data visualization, and accessibility best practices 5 to 10+ years of work experience or equivalent in delivering large-scale, complex programs with a strong focus on technology transformation, big data, automation, analytics, and business intelligence
