2992009165-2 Apply for this job now Job Description Plains is seeking an Internal Audit & AI Innovation Intern to support risk-based audits and help explore AI tools that enhance assurance activities. Working with senior auditors, you'll assist in planning and executing audits, testing controls, documenting findings, and preparing reports. You will research and prototype AI and analytics solutions to improve audit efficiency, data integrity, and risk insights across pipeline and terminal operations. This role offers hands-on exposure to midstream energy infrastructure, safety-focused processes, and cross-functional collaboration in a performance-driven environment. Responsibilities Support planning and execution of risk-based internal audits Perform testing of controls and document workpapers Analyze operational and financial data related to pipeline and terminal activities Assist in identifying process, control, and compliance gaps Contribute to drafting audit findings and recommendations Research and prototype AI and data analytics tools for audit use cases Build basic dashboards or scripts to automate audit testing Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather information and validate results Support follow-up on remediation actions and status tracking Uphold safety, ethics, and confidentiality standards in all work Required Skills Internal auditing fundamentals Risk assessment and control testing Financial and operational analysis Data analytics and visualization Basic Python or SQL for data manipulation Knowledge of AI/ML concepts and use cases Proficiency with Excel and Power BI or similar tools Technical writing and audit documentation Energy or utilities industry awareness Time management and organization
