Base pay is influenced by several factors including a candidate's qualifications, relevant experience, and anticipated contributions to meet the needs of the business, along with internal pay equity and external market driven rates. The salary range displayed has not been adjusted for geographical location. Dominion National, a rapidly growing and leading provider of dental and vision benefits, has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Data Analyst. Serves as a report writer and data analyst. Work involves developing and maintaining SQL Server/SSRS reporting solutions to meet company analysis and reporting requirements; maintaining all aspects of SSRS and SQL‑based report files; preparing, modifying, and creating existing or new report requests from users; and working with all internal and external customers in a professional, productive, and effective manner. Performs other duties as required.
Responsibilities and Qualifications:
Develop and maintain SSRS reports, datasets, and SQL queries using documented business requirements. Validate report outputs using established QA steps prior to user acceptance testing and production release. Convert legacy reports to SSRS following established standards and best practices. Maintain recurring daily, weekly, and monthly reporting schedules to support business operations. Perform SQL data updates using documented scripts and change‑control procedures. Document steps, approvals, and results for all assigned data maintenance tasks. Conduct data integrity checks to ensure accuracy and consistency of business data. Triage and resolve assigned ServiceNow tickets within SLA expectations, escalating issues when needed. Communicate clearly and professionally with requesters and team members regarding task status and outcomes. Support system upgrades, enhancement testing, and regression testing as assigned. Maintain current desk procedures covering all assigned workflows. Maintain working knowledge of core systems (e.g., DataDental) and related SQL database structures and table relationships. Collaborate professionally with business units, analysts, and technical teams on reporting and data needs.
Skills:
Ability to write accurate SQL queries and develop SSRS reports from requirements. Understanding of relational database concepts and basic data validation practices. Completes assigned work on time, following established procedures. Produces accurate, consistent outputs with appropriate documentation. Applies required QA steps with attention to detail. Communicates clearly with technical and non‑technical users. Works cooperatively with team members, Business Analysts, and Application Development. Provides timely updates on assigned reports and requests.
Experience:
3 years as a Data Analyst Experience with SQL Server querying and SSRS report development. Working knowledge of relational databases and data integrity concepts. Ability to follow documented procedures and workflows. Strong attention to detail and professional communication Prefer basic experience with Power BI or willingness to learn.
Education and Certifications:
Bachelor's degree in information systems, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent experience.
