Job Description
Overview Join our dynamic team as a Mineral Laboratory Technician and Data Scientist, where your expertise will drive innovation and precision in mineral analysis. This role offers an exciting opportunity to combine hands-on laboratory work with advanced data analysis, supporting quality control, research, and development projects across several mining and processing facilities. You will play a vital part in ensuring materials meet rigorous standards while leveraging data to optimize processes and outcomes. Responsibilities Conduct detailed laboratory testing of mineral and mineral processing samples. Collect, organize, and analyze datasets related to mineral properties, process performance, and quality control metrics using statistical tools and software. Maintain precise records of laboratory procedures, test results, and data logs to ensure traceability and compliance with industry standards. Collaborate with project teams and clients through clear communication of findings, technical reports, and recommendations for quality improvements or corrective actions. Ensure safety protocols are followed. Skills Proven laboratory experience with mineral analysis including XRF, fire assay, sample preparation, digestion, and titration analyses. Similar experience considered. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for documentation and data analysis purposes. Ability to perform basic math calculations accurately; strong numeracy skills essential for data collection and analysis. Excellent communication skills, report writing, and presenting technical findings clearly. Familiarity with industrial processes, safety procedures, and environmental monitoring may be helpful. Demonstrated ability to work independently or as part of a team in fast-paced environments while maintaining attention to detail.
