$28 Job Summary As a Data Science Intern at BPMI, you will be responsible for assisting in the adoption of data science and reporting into our standard project execution methods and procedures to support initiatives enhancing the work of BPMI by working with Subject Matter Experts to solve problems using Program data. This opportunity will begin Summer 2027, working a full-time schedule (40 hours/week). Please note, this is not a remote position. You will be expected to come into the office for this opportunity. Our internship will give you the opportunity to work in your field of study while simultaneously pursuing your bachelor's degree at an accredited college or university. These opportunities can enhance your academic training while teaching critical business skills and allowing you to learn about BPMI, the Navy, and the Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program.Essential Duties:
Assist with the structuring and analysis of both technical and business data sets. This includes tasks ranging from assessing system development concepts to providing end-of-life system support, as well as analyzing business and logistics data. Collaborate with data owners to clearly define problems and provide consultation on solutions. Partner with data engineers to develop and enhance data infrastructure. Help to foster a culture focused on data analytics. Stay current on data science trends and techniques. Communicate with internal and external stakeholders.What You Can Expect:

Enrolled in a Data Science, Computer Science, Business Intelligence, Engineering or related undergraduate degree program from an accredited college or university. Minimum of six (6) semesters completed prior to your internship (~90 credits). Requires a security clearance; however, all qualified candidates will be considered regardless of their current clearance status. The ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy security clearance is required.Preferred Job Requirements:
Minimum GPA of 3.0, preferred. Ability to effectively communicate and explain fundamental data science concepts. Good oral and writing skills, strongly preferred. Creative problem-solving capabilities. Perform software engineering tasks related to the development and implementation of databases. Experience with Azure Synapse and Azure AI Services Experience with developing and deploying web-based or server applications. Experience with Oracle Visual Builder Cloud Service (VBCS) to build and extend Redwood-based applications. Experience with developing using Oracle APEX in OCI environments. Why BPMI?
