Job Description
As the Product Data Specialist, you will provide customer service and consultative sales support, covering pre-order activity from quotation through order placement and technical support for customer inquiries and concerns. Responsibilities include the setup of bill of materials, facility planning, cross reference, item master and pricing for customer orders of architectural lighting assembly and fabrication. You will also create wiring schematics for lighting assembly and review new component part drawings and customer blueprints for accuracy. This is a fast-paced role that requires a team-oriented and organized person to help deliver great experiences for both internal and external customers. What You'll Do Work with customer blueprints, raw material prints, BOM's, facility planning, and cross reference in BPCS for custom architectural lighting assembly and fabrication orders. Effectively check bills of material for correctness and compare to shop floor drawings for consistency. Create wiring schematics for lighting assembly using AutoCAD. Initiate and process Engineering Change Notifications (ECN's) and deviations as needed. Create pricing for lighting customers. Stay familiar with BOM, routing, item master processes, process changes and follow all quality procedures. Contribute to the thought process and idea generation for patents and other intellectual property. Participate in design reviews and other meetings as needed and continuously look for opportunities to improve products and processes. What You'll Need Good written and verbal communication skills to effectively relay information to customers and production personnel. A strong customer focus and the ability to take ownership of issues and resolve them with a sense of urgency. Excellent problem-solving skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to learn Dekko's ERP system, and ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications. 1 - 3 years Computer Assisted Design experience to facilitate being able to implement drawing changes. Strong attention to detail, with planning and time management skills. Comfortable working cross-functionally with Sales, Engineering, Product Management and Marketing. Nice to Have (Not Required — We'll Train You) Associate degree in Computer Aided Design or equivalent experience. BPCS experience. Data entry experience. Experience in a manufacturing environment.
