Power BI - Data Specialist

S&W Wholesale Foods is looking for a Power BI - Data Specialist! In this role, you will design and maintain database solutions, deliver Power BI Dashboards, and help turn operational data into meaningful insights for our team. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Write and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and database objects to support reporting and analytics Build and maintain interactive Power BI dashboards and reports for leadership and operational teams Design, develop, and maintain ETL/ELT data pipelines to ingest, transform, and load data from multiple business systems and sources Oversee database management activities including schema design, indexing, performance tuning, and ongoing maintenance to ensure reliability and scalability Collaborate with cross-functional departments to gather requirements and translate them into data models and reporting solutions Monitor, troubleshoot, and continuously improve existing pipelines and data processes Ensure data quality, accuracy, and consistency across all data assets Document data workflows, pipeline architecture, and report logic Identify and implement opportunities to automate manual reporting and data processes Support ad hoc data requests and analysis as needed Key Competencies Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with a solutions-oriented mindset Excellent written and verbal communication skills; comfortable presenting to leadership and cross-functional teams Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively Collaborative team player who builds credible, influential relationships at all levels of the organization Self-motivated and driven, with a commitment to delivering high-quality results Adaptable and composed under pressure, with a high tolerance for fast-paced, evolving environments Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose issues and develop practical, data-driven solutions Formal presentation skills with the ability to communicate complex data insights in a clear, compelling way Required Qualifications 2+ years of experience in a Data Analyst, Data Engineer, or similar role Strong proficiency in SQL (query writing, stored procedures, performance tuning) Hands-on experience building and maintaining data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes Proficiency in Microsoft Power BI (data modeling, DAX, dashboard and report development) Experience working with relational databases (SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, or similar) Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts and best practices Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with close attention to detail Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders Preferred Qualifications Experience with cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure (Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL, Synapse Analytics) Familiarity with Python or PowerShell for data automation and scripting Experience with Microsoft 365 or the Power Platform (Power Automate, Power Apps) Experience in integrating third-party data sources Background in wholesale distribution, supply chain, or food service industries Experience with version control systems (Git) S&W Wholesale Foods LLC is an Equal Opportunity Employer, drug free workplace, and complies with ADA regulations as applicable.
