ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Demonstrates a strong commitment to equity, social justice, and inclusion in all practices and position responsibilities. Demonstrates the ability to examine how his/her/their position (directly or indirectly) impacts educational inequities in student achievement outcomes. Engages in reflection and ongoing learning and development on critical concepts and terms identified in the Washtenaw ISD Educational Equity Policy including concepts such as cultural proficiency, racial equity, and systemic and structural inequities. Builds and maintains a data structure for standardized student data including a warehouse or data lake that also meets the needs of the Driving Possibilities Grant. Reports Driving Possibilities and other instructional data to appropriate partners. Analyzes data and generates reports to meet ISD and District requests. Generates data sets, distributions or reports for approved EMU research requests. Loads and ensures data integrity. Works as a partner with EMU to support approved research studies that require access to District or county data. Interprets statistical information based on data. Develops, maintains, and optimizes databases. Provide aggregated data sets on request for research proposals. Helps build the structure and design of the database and addresses scalability and performance over time. Ensures efficient data storage and security. Provides technical assistance in the areas of administrative and instructional technology. Recommends and/or performs remedial actions to resolve data and system related problems. Utilizes remote support utility to provide assistance. Understands of how to secure and store data. Utilizes SQL to pull data from PowerSchool tables. Communicates with all stakeholders to ensure data is entered accurately and in a timely manner. Completes FERPA training and ensure privacy/confidentiality of district data is protected., maintaining and reporting deidentified data. Works with researchers to identify most appropriate data set for research study. Assists with testing software updates to ensure correct functionality. Assists with creating support documentation. Attends meetings periodically, both onsite and online, to receive updated information and to share issues, concerns, and successes. Participates in the evaluation, operation and testing of software, hardware, and network security configurations. Works collaboratively with districts in Washtenaw County to ensure best practices in data exchange and security is maintained. Establishes and maintains a positive and productive work relationship with intermediate and local District staff. Work independently and in a team environment. Regular predictable attendance. Possess a bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Information Systems, Data Analysis, or related field is required. Possesses a minimum of one (1) to three (3) years of experience in analyzing, diagnosing, and resolving customer problems- required. Possesses experience administering PowerSchool student information system
- required. Possesses experience with database administration
- required. Possesses Oracle developer experience
