Job Description:
Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Salesforce Marketing Cloud & Data Specialist to join their Marketing team. This role is pivotal in ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and usability of Salesforce data, while owning hands-on execution of email marketing campaigns, automations, and reporting. This is a builder role, not a general email marketer role the ideal candidate has personally built and scripted automations in Automation Studio, not just executed pre-built sends or workflows, and can speak in depth about the logic, data flow, and technical decisions behind what they've built. This person will support a senior marketing lead who currently owns most email sends and reporting, with the goal of eventually taking independent ownership of the work.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
Develop, build, test, and deploy end-to-end email campaigns and automated journeys within SFMC's Email Studio and Journey Builder Build and script automations in Automation Studio, including custom/one-off reporting pulls and conditional (if/then) logic Manage and segment email lists/data to ensure accurate targeting and personalization Create dynamic content and personalization within email templates Maintain and update subscription centers via Marketing Cloud pages Maintain accuracy, consistency, and completeness of data across Sales Cloud, Marketing Cloud, and related platforms Audit, clean, and harmonize data to eliminate duplicates, outdated records, and inaccuracies Create, customize, and manage reports and dashboards in Sales Cloud and Marketing Cloud Analyze email performance data (opens, clicks, engagement) using Excel pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and cross-referencing across multiple sheets Support ad-hoc reporting requests from marketing stakeholders Work closely with a small marketing team (4-5 people) to understand data needs and campaign goals Communicate proactively flag issues, provide status updates, and manage competing priorities across stakeholders
Minimum Requirements:
4-7 years of experience in Salesforce Sales Cloud and Salesforce Marketing Cloud Strong, hands-on Automation Studio experience must have personally built automations, not just used or executed them Working knowledge of scripting/technical logic within Automation Studio (e.g., AMPscript, SQL, JavaScript) Solid experience with Journey Builder Good working knowledge of Sales Cloud reporting, campaigns, objects/fields Strong reporting/data analytics skills and advanced Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, cross-referencing) Excellent written and verbal communication skills; this is a fully remote role requiring proactive updates Strong prioritization skills and the ability to manage multiple stakeholder requests Comfortable working independently and troubleshooting before escalating
Preferred Qualifications:
Salesforce certifications (helpful, not required) Experience with Salesforce Data Cloud Prior experience working in a small/lean marketing team Industry or sector-specific experience is not required
