Reports To Director Student Information System - Technology Pay Grade PP06 Workdays 226 Contract Status At-Will Type of Assignment Non-Exempt Funding This position is locally funded. Consideration for directly related experience supported by an official service record or experience affidavit. Annualized pay may be pro-rated based on actual start date. Position Summary Under moderate supervision by PEIMS Coordinator, assist in collecting and reporting district Public Education Information Management System (PEIMS) data. Minimum Requirements High school diploma or GED equivalent recognized by the Texas Education Agency or a regional accrediting agency. Three (3) years of experience in a school district administrative support position requiring collecting and entering data; experience using coding systems. Experience developing training materials and presentations. Must have satisfactory outcome of fingerprinting background check. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university. Ability to communicate effectively in both English and Spanish. Experience with Skyward, PEIMS and TSDS. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Ability to maintain accurate and auditable records. Knowledge of the Student Attendance Accounting Handbook and PEIMS Data Standards Ability to use software to develop spreadsheets, perform data analysis, and word processing. Ability to meet established deadlines. Ability to understand detailed written or oral instructions. Proficient in keyboarding, 10-key numerical data entry, and file maintenance. Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. Essential Functions/Key Responsibilities Coordinate the collection, integration, and formatting of all data required for PEIMS submission according to Texas Education Agency PEIMS Data Standards. Work cooperatively with the campus, business office, and personnel office staff to collect, organize, and format data required to submit district PEIMS data according to prescribed state deadlines. Run edits, reports, and verification checks on data to ensure the accuracy of information. Distribute edits and reports to appropriate staff for analysis, verification, and correction. Deliver timely data entry support to campus registrars during peak registration periods by processing enrollment requests and record updates. Perform periodic internal audits to ensure compliance with PEIMS data standards and district policies. Submit complete and accurate PEIMS data in Texas Education Agency (TEA)-prescribed format to the education service center (ESC) for processing using a computer terminal or personal computer. Verify data submitted to TEA and submit corrections in a timely manner. Provide training and technical support to campuses and to business and personnel office staff responsible for processing PEIMS data. Receive PEIMS-related information from ESC and TEA, attend all regional PEIMS workshops, and disseminate information to other staff in a timely manner, including updates to PEIMS Data Standards. Attend all regional PEIMS workshops and disseminate information to appropriate staff. Assist in providing onsite support for new personnel. Compile, maintain, file, and distribute all reports, records, and other documents as required following established procedures. Keep informed of and comply with policies established by federal and state law, State Board of Education rule, and board policy. Attend meetings and work overtime as required. Daily attendance at work and punctuality are essential functions of the job. Comply with all district routines and regulations. Maintain confidentiality. Perform other duties as assigned.
