Responsibilities Install, configure, and troubleshoot network systems including Ethernet, LAN, and telecommunication equipment such as Cisco routers and Juniper devices. Perform fiber splicing and cable management using hand tools and power tools to ensure optimal network performance. Conduct routine inspections and diagnostics utilizing tools like ohmmeters and diagnostic software to identify issues with electrical systems or hardware. Support field service operations by setting up network wiring, low voltage cabling (Cat5, Cat6), and electrical systems in various environments. Test radio frequency (RF) signals and perform VoIP system configurations to ensure reliable communication channels. Read schematics and technical diagrams accurately to guide installation or repair procedures aligned with NEC standards. Repair or replace telephony equipment such as Avaya systems or other telecommunications hardware while maintaining high customer service standards. Skills Extensive knowledge of CCTV surveillance systems, fiber splicing techniques, and network installation procedures. Strong understanding of computer networking concepts including Ethernet, LAN/WAN configurations, and TCP/IP protocols. Hands-on experience with Cisco routers, Juniper equipment, VoIP systems, and telecommunication infrastructure. Proficiency in using diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters, power meters, and testing devices for RF testing and electrical troubleshooting. Ability to interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals accurately for effective system setup or repairs. Skilled in the use of hand tools (wire strippers, crimpers) and power tools for cabling and equipment installation tasks. Electrical experience with AC/DC systems, NEC compliance standards, low voltage wiring (Cat5/Cat6), and electrical safety protocols. Experience working in data centers or similar environments with a focus on IT infrastructure maintenance. Service technician background with strong customer service skills to communicate effectively with clients during installations or repairs. Knowledge of telephony systems such as Avaya or similar platforms along with general computer hardware troubleshooting skills.
