Job Description

About the Role We are seeking an experienced Database Administrator to support a complex, enterprise-level database environment. This role will be responsible for the planning, administration, performance, maintenance, and ongoing support of critical database platforms, including DB2 for z/OS, SQL Server, Oracle, and GIS . The ideal candidate will bring 15+ years of combined database administration experience and strong expertise working within mainframe and enterprise database environments. This individual will play an important role in ensuring database availability, performance, security, reliability, and integration across the organization. The position requires a highly technical professional who can independently manage database administration activities while also collaborating with application, infrastructure, and technical teams. Experience supporting an integrated database infrastructure, financial management applications, or an integrated application environment is a plus. Required Experience The candidate must have skills and 15 years of combined experience in database administration for the following database platforms: DB2 for z/OS SQL Server 2008R2, 2012 Oracle 10g and above Experience with an integrated database infrastructure is a plus. Knowledge of financial management applications is a plus. Knowledge of an integrated application environment is a plus. Primary Job Duties / Tasks This resource will primarily be tasked with performing Database (DB2, SQL Server, Oracle, GIS) planning and operational activities including, but not limited to, the following: Daily operational and database administration activities Plan, design, implement, support for database structures Conduct database performance monitoring and tuning Develop and maintain database administration procedures and documentation Perform SQL Code reviews Assist with training/mentoring other technical staff This resource may also be required to perform other database or infrastructure activities as requested Job Specific Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs) The submitted candidate must be able to apply common knowledge, skills, and abilities in the following areas: Advanced knowledge of DB2 for z/OS application integration, performance management and database administration Advanced knowledge of upgrading DB2 for z/OS Advanced knowledge of DB2 for z/OS catalog maintenance Advanced knowledge of DB2 for z/OS subsystem point-in-time recovery Advanced knowledge of JCL In-depth knowledge of the z/OS integrated platform In-depth knowledge of CA GEN model management and application object support In-depth knowledge of ISPF In-depth knowledge of the ASG Scheduler In-depth knowledge of COBOL In-depth knowledge of the use and interpretation of DB2 for z/OS database monitoring tools In-depth knowledge of the use and interpretation of z/OS software monitoring tools In-depth knowledge of technical infrastructure implementation planning and coordinating Solid working knowledge of z/OS started task creation and management Solid working knowledge of IBI z/OS service support Solid working knowledge of AFOPER commands Solid working knowledge of RACF Solid working knowledge of CICS Solid working knowledge of IOF Solid working knowledge of the technical requirements of Disaster Recovery Solid working knowledge of Oracle application integration, performance management and database administration Solid working knowledge of MSSQL application integration, performance management and database administration Solid working knowledge of verification testing techniques for infrastructure change management Working knowledge of z/OS EXITs Working knowledge of BJS Working knowledge of Windows Servers Working knowledge of

Education Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field. Or equivalent work experience. Work Hours Flexibility to work hours between 7:00 AM & 7:00 PM and/or Saturdays , either on a rotation or as part of a regular and on-call work schedule.
