Job Description

CyrusOne is a global enterprise data center collocation provider, dedicated to increasing the availability and efficiency of our customers' mission-critical business applications and safeguarding their data in our highly secure data centers. Under the direction of the Sr Facility Manager this role works as a team member in an Operations & Maintenance organization that provides a variety of O&M services within a 24/7/365 environment. Provides duties with constant awareness of the need to preserve the reliability of the critical load. Also provides operational support for building systems of other facilities as assigned. Responsible for carrying out maintenance and operations by performing the following duties personally or as a team member in a Data Center Operations & Maintenance environment.
  • Role Summary
  • The Senior Data Center Facilities Technician is responsible for executing and supporting the Operations & Maintenance (O&M) program across data center and assigned facility spaces. This role ensures safe, reliable, and efficient operation of critical infrastructure while supporting vendor coordination, incident response, and compliance with operational standards.
  • Key Responsibilities
  • Operations & Maintenance
  • + Execute assigned tasks within the
  • data center O&M program
  • under the direction of the Senior Facility Manager + Understand and adhere to
  • building operational procedures and site-specific requirements
  • + Utilize and support the use of the
  • CMMS system
  • to track preventive maintenance, reactive work orders, and labor activities + Follow and enforce
  • SOPs, MOPs, EOPs, and MMRs
  • for all maintenance and operational activities
  • Incident Response & Technical Operations
  • + Respond to
  • building system alarms
  • , prioritizing:
Protection of critical loadMinimization of equipment or system damageSupport of root cause analysis and prevention + Perform
  • critical switching, lockout/tagout (LOTO), and safe work setup
  • to support maintenance and contractor activities + Troubleshoot systems using equipment interfaces and stabilize operations until OEM or specialized support is engaged
  • Vendor & Contractor Coordination
  • + Coordinate with vendors and contractors to ensure
  • safe, compliant, and efficient execution
  • of maintenance and project work + Support site access, escorting, and enforcement of
  • safety protocols and procedures
  • + Assist with equipment evaluations and provide input for
  • contractor scopes of work
  • Quality, Safety & Compliance
  • + Ensure all work meets
  • high standards of workmanship and operational excellence
  • + Comply with all
  • company, client, and regulatory requirements

  • Minimum Qualifications

  • + Journeyman-level skills in
  • Electrical, Mechanical, or HVAC/R disciplines
  • , obtained through technical training or equivalent hands-on experience +
  • 7-10 years of experience
  • in data center operations, facility maintenance, or building engineering (Tier II-IV environments preferred) + Experience with: +
  • CMMS systems and work order management
  • + Vendor and subcontractor coordination + KPI tracking and reporting + Capacity planning + Ability to use
  • hand tools, diagnostic equipment, and maintenance best practices
  • + Strong understanding of system operations to
  • stabilize issues until OEM support is available
  • Certifications
