Job Description
About Prime Data Centers Prime Data Centers develops, acquires, and operates data centers for some of the world's largest enterprises. A private firm owned by a group controlling $6 billion in assets, with a 15-year tenure in technology and real estate development, Prime provides customers with ownership options and dynamic leasing models, defining a true corporate partnership. About the role The Critical Operations Technician(s) (COT) are Prime Data Center's front line responders for hands-on electrical and mechanical equipment troubleshooting and operation. This equipment includes, but is not limited to, stand-by diesel generators, switchboards/switchgears, UPSs, PDUs, AHUs, pumps, motors, VFDs, and building automation systems. The COT maintains and follows the processes that maximize customer uptime in the most cost-effective way. Ensures that data center problems are identified and repaired quickly, that contractors deliver quality services, and that internal customer demands are met.

This role is a non-exempt (hourly) position with eligibility for overtime. We are hiring technicians for our new data center facility in Elk Grove Village, IL. We are currently hiring for the following shift: 12-hour night shift w/ occasional shift coverage of other shifts- 7:00pm
- 7:00am What you'll do Operate and maintain mechanical and electrical, mechanical, emergency generator, and fire/life safety equipment within the data center.
Qualifications Basic Qualifications:
Two or more years of technical training, military training, or workplace equivalency Background in areas of IT, electrical, and/or mechanicalPreferred Qualifications:
Two or more years of work experience in data center environment or equivalent.Knowledge, Skills And Abilities:
Possess an understanding of the mechanical, electrical, and fire life safety systems used in a data center environment including, but not limited to the following: electrical distribution and layout, Transformers, PLC's, Generators, Switchgear, UPS systems, STS', ATS' PDU's, Chilled Water Systems, CRAC/CRAH's, Pre-Action Sprinkler Systems Knowledge ofNEC, NFPA 70E, NFPA 72, NFPA
25, and compliance issues as well as building codes in regard to fire life safety Current knowledge in industrial safety best practices (i.e., lockout/tag out, arc flash protection, OSHA, and state regulations)Physical Requirements:
