Job Description Clearance:
Active TS/SCI with Polygraph required. We are seeking a Microsoft SQL Server Database Administrator to join a small, highly skilled database administration team supporting Microsoft SQL Server environments across multiple networks and architectures. The team is responsible for creating, maintaining, troubleshooting, and improving database environments hosted in both on-premises data centers and cloud environments. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated DBA who enjoys solving complex problems, learning new technologies, and finding ways to improve and automate database administration processes. Experience with Microsoft SQL Server, AWS, and database performance management is highly desired. Responsibilities Administer, maintain, patch, and troubleshoot Microsoft SQL Server database environments. Create and maintain SQL Server databases, instances, and associated services. Monitor and improve database performance, including index management and optimization. Troubleshoot database, instance, and application-related issues. Perform and support database backup and recovery operations. Support database environments across multiple networks, architectures, and hosting environments. Support databases hosted in on-premises data centers and AWS cloud environments. Identify opportunities to automate repetitive database administration tasks. Develop scripts and tools to improve operational efficiency. Troubleshoot issues using system and application logs, including Windows Event Logs. Support high-availability database solutions and assist with maintaining database resiliency. Document database configurations, procedures, troubleshooting steps, and operational processes. Collaborate with database, systems, application, and customer teams to support mission requirements. Contribute to the continued improvement and maturity of database administration processes. Required Qualifications Demonstrable experience administering and supporting Microsoft SQL Server databases. Experience with SQL Server indexing and performance management. Experience troubleshooting database instances and application-related database issues. Experience with database backup and recovery processes. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Ability to work effectively with diverse technical teams in support of a common mission. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a small, collaborative team. Desired Qualifications Experience with AWS database services, particularly Amazon RDS. Experience using PowerShell and/or Python to automate repetitive administrative tasks. Experience with Commvault backup solutions. Knowledge of SQL Server Always On Availability Groups/Clustering. Experience with Windows Event Log filtering and management. Experience with Windows Task Scheduler setup and management. Experience supporting Microsoft SharePoint implementations. Experience working in enterprise or classified environments. LCAT Requirements 10 years of experience as a Database Administrator (DBA) supporting programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity. Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university is required. Four additional years of DBA experience may be substituted for a Bachelor's degree. Must meet DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II requirements with one of the following certifications: Security+ SSCP
GSEC CCNA
Security GICSP Clearance:
Active TS/SCI with FS Polygraph required.
