Job Description
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Hire, schedule, train, coach, and evaluate staff and conduct performance reviews Direct daily work activities and inspect completed work for conformance to standards Monitor relational databases to optimize database performance, resource use and physical implementations of databases Address database integration issues including migration between disparate databases, integration, maintenance/ conversion, capacity planning issues and new applications Monitor and manage database backups and logs Install, maintain and upgrade database software and restore and/or recover data as required Maintain business intelligence environment databases and cubes, including disaster recovery, validation, and assisting in design of new cubes and future development Plan, coordinate, implement and maintain policies and procedures and security measures to ensure database integrity and safeguard information in computer files against accidental or unauthorized damage, modification or disclosure Approve, plan and supervise the installation and testing of new products and improvements to transactional and reporting database systems Advise with regard to server environment on which databases reside specific to performance and capacity analysis Coordinate with Network team to ensure server consistency and performance benchmarks are achieved Provide on call service 24/7, as needed, and emergency support and restoration of systems Provide support to multiple Prairie Island and Treasure Island locationsKNOWLEDGE AND CERTIFICATION, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Knowledge and Certification Required:
4-year IT degree or related field; or equivalent combination of comparable work experience, on-the-job training, IT certifications and/or education 5 years relational DBA experience in a highly transactional VLDB environment including the implementation of enterprise-wide backup / recovery solutions and lead database role or related lead technical position Demonstrated Project Management experience Database programming experience working in a large multi-application environment resulting in the integration of disparate systems, enterprise level reporting and enhanced system functionality Experience working withReporting Services, Integration Services, and Analysis Services Preferred:
Current Project Management Certification Microsoft SQL Certification Supervisory experienceSkills Required:
