Job Description
Akkodis is seeking a Database Administrator for a Contract with a client in Englewood Cliffs, NJ. The ideal candidate with expertise in managing, optimizing, and maintaining enterprise database environments across on-premises and AWS platforms to ensure high availability, performance, and data integrity.

Rate Range:
$44/hour to $45/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.Database Administrator Job Responsibilities include:
Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain MySQL, PostgreSQL, and Redis database environments across on-premises and AWS platforms. Manage database replication, high-availability solutions, backup processes, and disaster recovery strategies to ensure data integrity and system reliability. Monitor and optimize database performance through query tuning, indexing, capacity planning, and proactive troubleshooting. Administer AWS database services including RDS, Aurora, ElastiCache, DynamoDB, EC2, and S3 to support enterprise application environments. Collaborate with application developers and DevSecOps teams to optimize database designs, implement security patches, and improve overall system performance. Automate database administration tasks and infrastructure provisioning using scripting and automation tools while supporting production incidents and ongoing operational maintenance.Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a related field. 6-8 years of experience in MySQL Database Administration, including database installation, configuration, maintenance, and performance optimization. Strong hands-on experience with MySQL, including replication, high availability, backup/recovery, performance tuning, and Linux/Unix administration. Experience managing database environments in AWS, including RDS, Aurora, ElastiCache, EC2, and automation using scripting tools such as Shell or Python.
