Job Description
Data Center Operations (H/F Support) Engineer We are seeking a skilled and reliable IT Data Center Technician to manage and support daily operations of the data center. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining server hardware, network devices, and ensuring connectivity within the infrastructure environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform hands-on support for physical servers, network devices, storage systems, and related hardware.
- Install, rack, cable, and decommission data center equipment as needed.
- Monitor and maintain physical infrastructure including power, cooling, and connectivity.
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and connectivity issues in coordination with Network and Server teams.
- Handle incident response and escalation protocols for onsite infrastructure problems.
- Maintain inventory of equipment and ensure proper asset tagging and documentation.
- Assist in patching network and fiber connections in accordance with layout standards.
- Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) for deployments, moves, adds, and changes.
- Work with vendors and internal teams during hardware replacement, repairs, or upgrades.
- Ensure data center security, cleanliness, and environmental compliance.
Requirements:
- 3-5 years of experience in IT Infrastructure, preferably in a data center environment.
- Solid understanding of server hardware, network cabling, routers, switches, and storage devices.
- Experience with tools like DCIM (Data Center Infrastructure Management), ticketing systems, and basic monitoring platforms.
- Familiarity with cabling standards (Cat6, fiber), power configurations, and rack layouts.
- Ability to lift/move equipment (up to 50 lbs) and work in physically demanding environments.
- Willingness to work in shifts, including weekends or on-call as required.
