View More Jobs Administrator, Database II Orlando, FL, United States (Hybrid) Be the First to Apply Apply Now Job Description The Azure/MySQL Database Administrator II be responsible for the management of production and non- production databases; database maintenance activities; troubleshooting database-related issues; monitoring of database capacity and performance; installation, administration, and configuration of database server/instances/databases; installation and configuration of SSRS; Support release/code deployment activities (SSIS Packages, SSRS reports, SQL objects etc). Responsibilities Conduct the following for Azure SQL/Azure
SQL MI/SQL
on Azure VM, On Prem SQL Server, SSRS, SSIS, and other related products as applicable and necessary Install/Configure/Setup/Administer and Maintain production and non-production environments Setup High-Availability and Disaster Recovery Plan and test high availability and disaster recovery Create Users and assign/manage permissions based on the level of access the user would need; ensure robust and full proof security of assets Resolve database integrity, performance, blocking, deadlocking, connectivity, and replication issues. Detect and resolve database-related CPU, memory, I/O, disk space and other contention issues. Perform and manage Database backup/recovery/restore and capacity monitoring Setup SQL agent jobs, elastic jobs and runbook automation Identify and setup alerts and logging in Azure Maintain databases - Statistics, Indexes, fragmentation Conduct Performance tuning and optimization (Stored procedures, Views, Functions, Queries, database) Implement operational automation using scripts. Upgrade and maintain SQL Server and related software (apply patches and updates when necessary) Coordinate removal and/or archiving of data that is no longer required to be available in the production databases. Deploy and configure SSIS packages and SSRS Reports. Troubleshoot issues with SSRS and SSIS. Design and create databases to support development initiatives Experience migrating on-prem environments to the Cloud (Azure) Knowledge of best practices in the areas of application design, performance, security, scalability and maintainability is also desired. Experience with extended features (partitioning, compression, CDC, encryption, auditing, etc) Identify future risks in the environment before they happen and work with leadership to get the work prioritized. MySQL, Mongo, and other DB technologies preferred Synapse, Databricks, and other data warehouse workflows preferred Support release/code deployment activities Provide 24x7 support as necessary Must work well as part of a team, get along with others, follow lawful directions and instructions the first time, follow all company policies and procedures, and ask questions to clarify instructions. Qualifications Minimum Education and/orExperience:
Bachelor's Degree, or the equivalent years related experience Minimum 5 years' experience working with SQL Server 2005 - 2019 Minimum 3 years experience with AzureSQL, SQL
Managed Instances, Managed Identity Experience in HA/Failover technologies Experience with SQL Backup and Recory Experience in log shipping and DR Environments Performance Tuning (Locks/Block/Deadlocks, Query Tuning, Index Optimization) Experience with DataSync in Azure and other technologies used in replicating data Strong Experience in Performance Tuning and Optimization (PTO) Experience running and troubleshooting SSIS packages Experience troubleshooting performance issues in the SQL Server environment Additional knowledge and skills: Good verbal and written communication is a must have. Excellent teamwork skills and demonstrated ability to collaborate in a positive, productive manner with team development efforts, actively contributing to shared source and source code control. Good communication (both written and oral) and interpersonal skills are required. A strong customer service orientation is essential.
