None •The Opportunity:
Join our team as a Database Administrator to support the Software Engineering Environment (SE2) and its associated databases. You will play a crucial role in managing, optimizing, and securing our database systems, while providing critical support to software developers. Hybrid work environment! Work 2 days onsite and 3 days remotely each week.Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain Microsoft SQL Server databases for the SE2 environment
- Ensure database performance, integrity, security, and availability
- Implement and manage database backup and recovery procedures
- Collaborate with software developers to support their database needs
- Optimize database performance and troubleshoot issues as they arise
- Work with IIS and ColdFusion
- Implement and maintain SQL STIGs (Security Technical Implementation Guides) for database security
- Provide critical support to software developers in managing SQL databases
- Stay current with emerging database technologies and best practices
Qualifications:
Required:
- An active DoD Secret clearance.
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Electronics Engineering, or other Engineering or Technical discipline
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in database administration
- Professionally recognized cybersecurity certifications per DoD 8140.01 and DoD 8570.01-M
- Proficiency in Microsoft SQL Server and SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS)
- Experience with cloud database services, particularly in Azure and Azure Storage Explorer
- Strong knowledge of SQL STIGs and their implementation
- Experience working with IIS and ColdFusion for database communication
- Solid understanding of database backup and recovery procedures
- Experience in performance tuning and optimization of SQL databases
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Desired:
- Advanced degree in a related field
- Experience with MariaDB and PostgreSQL
- Knowledge of data warehousing and business intelligence concepts
- Experience with database automation and scripting
- Relevant database certifications (e.
